He came from Wales, and was a bricklayer by trade. In 1695 he married Maria Dirkse Hessling (109-3), and between that date and 1708, had six children baptized in the church at Schenectady.
In 1714, being then a resident of New York, he quit claimed the Sixth flat, on the north side of the river, to Reyer Schermerhorn. (109-4)
In 1716 he owned a lot on the north side of State street, purchased probably, of Willem Appel, of 75 feet front, Amsterdam measure, comprising the lots of Mr. George Swortfiguer and estate of the late William Cunningham, — numbers 103-111.
