As noted by Paul Keesler in his article, "The Much Maligned Mr. Greene," some information in this book has been superseded by later research or was provided incorrectly by local sources.]

Herkimer County Historical Society has rooms and collections on upper floor of this fine old Earl mansion. Here are General Herkimer's Bible and the sword he carried at Battle of Oriskany; one of the first Remington typewriters, made 1874; flag of 34th N. Y. Volunteers, etc. Admission free.
