Thomas W. Wallace, Jr., is a representative young lawyer of Schenectady who has already demonstrated his ability in the successful handling of important litigated interests. The city also numbers him among her native sons, for it was here that he was born in January, 1899. His parents, Thomas W. and Ellen (O'Neill) Wallace, who were likewise born in Schenectady, are well known and highly esteemed throughout the community. The father, now living retired, served as superintendent of streets and had charge of asphalt paving in Schenectady for a period covering about three decades.
After having completed the prescribed course of study in the grade and high schools, Thomas W. Wallace, Jr., continued his education in Union College of Schenectady. In preparation for a professional career he then entered the Albany Law School, from which institution he was graduated as a member of the class of 1922, receiving the degree of LL. B. He next became a clerk in the law office of Miller & Golden, with which firm he continued until admitted to the bar in March, 1923. At that date he began practice independently, opening his office at No. 251 State street, in Schenectady, where he has remained. He is a hard worker and close student, actuated at all times by a laudable ambition and clearly recognizing the fact that advancement at the bar depends upon individual merit and ability. Mr. Wallace belongs to the Schenectady County Bar Association.
Since age conferred upon him the right of franchise Mr. Wallace has supported the men and measures of the republican party and he is a member of the Schenectady County Republican Club. When the armistice was signed ending the World war he was preparing for military service in the Officers' Training School at Camp Taylor. He is a member of the American Legion and has likewise joined two Greek letter societies — Phi Sigma Kappa, a national college fraternity, and Delta Sigma Nu, a high school fraternity. Mr. Wallace also belongs to the Schenectady Boat Club, and in religious belief is a Catholic. His home is at No. 850 Stanley street, in Schenectady.
