Dr. Walter J. Chynoweth is a successful young veterinarian of Utica, who for the past six years has been junior member of the firm of Hollingworth & Chynoweth. He was born in Vershire, Vermont, on the 31st of July, 1894, his parents being Kimball and Jenny Chynoweth, both of whom are residents of Utica. His preliminary education was supplemented by a course of study in Montpelier Seminary of Montpelier, Vermont, while in 1914 he matriculated in Cornell University of Ithaca, New York, which institution conferred the degree of D. V. M. upon him in 1918. Following his graduation he spent a short time with Drs. McClellan and Wende, both well known veterinarians of Buffalo, and then became associated with Dr. Walter George Hollingworth in Utica, where he has been engaged in practice to the present time under the firm style of Hollingworth & Chynoweth. He has won an enviable reputation as a skilled and capable representative of his chosen profession and has gained a gratifying degree of success therein for one of his years. Dr. Chynoweth has membership in the Society of Comparative Medicine, the New York Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

On the 18th of June, 1921, Dr. Chynoweth was united in marriage to Miss Hazel Madeline Morrison of Cambridge, Massachusetts. They have a son: John Morrison, who was born in Utica on the 21st of June, 1922. Dr. Chynoweth is a republican in his political views but does not consider himself bound by party ties and casts an independent ballot if his judgment dictates this to be the wiser course. He is a Methodist in religious faith and a worthy exemplar of the teachings and purposes of Masonry. He also belongs to Omega Tau Sigma fraternity, to the University Club, the Cornell Club and the Rotary Club.
