Dear Fellow Citizens of Schenectady County:
Anniversaries are traditionally festive family affairs. That is why a number of us were interested in seeing that the 150th Anniversary of the founding of Schenectady County be celebrated in such a way that the whole countywide family might have an opportunity to participate.
The Sesqui-Spectacade and the accompanying festivities are our way of expressing gratitude for all that has gone into making our county such a fine place in which to live, and of presenting it to the state and nation as a home and business center with a great future.
Hundreds of our fellow citizens have worked generously to make this celebration a success. Now let us all join in enjoying the results of their labors and in promising our continued support of every endeavor designed to keep Schenectady County in the forefront as a good place to live, to work, and to play.
With all of the resources we have at our command, including human talent and skills as well as magnificent scenery and natural resources, we need not take a second seat to any part of our great nation in what we enjoy ourselves or in what we can offer to share with others.
May the happy days of this occasion inspire our gratitude and challenge our participation in making Schenectady County an even finer place in which to live.
Sincerely
William Gold
Active General Chairman
