The first Schenectady city directories were dated 1841-42 and 1857-58. SCPL has those and a continuous run from 1861 to 1968 except for these missing volumes:
1903, 1917, 1922, 1932, 1934, 1944, 1946, 1948, 1950, 1967
City directories were not published between 1968 and 2006; there were some Colonie-Schenectady directories, such as 1980 and 1984. We do have telephone books from 1961 and cross reference directories from 1967, 1971-date.
